Unedited, Unfiltered, Unstoppable: The Story of My Podcast Journey

The Joanne Genoza Podcast was born on a hot afternoon in Chiang Mai, Thailand, while I sat at my dining table on a wooden chair, with an iPhone in my left hand. The world was in the grip of a pandemic, and we were all practicing social distancing. Flying had become a distant memory for me, a contrast to the 3-5 flights I used to take every month. In that moment of stillness, I felt an overflow of messages in my heart that needed to be shared—messages that had to reach someone out there.

And so, the Joanne Genoza Podcast came to life. Unedited, raw, and in my broken English, I chose to trust that the energy behind the message mattered more than perfect grammar. I knew I would learn along the way. I also knew this was a chance to show others that we don’t need to wait for everything to be perfect to begin—we can start with what we have now, and the journey will unfold.

Five years later, I’m still recording with the same authenticity and rawness. My podcast is still unedited, and I love it that way. I’m deeply grateful that it’s now among the top 10% most listened-to podcasts globally.
