Unedited, Unfiltered, Unstoppable: The Story of My Podcast Journey
Five years later, I’m still recording with the same authenticity and rawness. My podcast is still unedited, and I love it that way. I’m deeply grateful that it’s now among the top 10% most listened to podcasts globally.
If you’re holding yourself back from creating, let me help you find the bigger “why” that will move you forward. We don’t require to wait for the perfect moment to begin. Start now, and let’s make your voice heard.
The Joanne Genoza Podcast was born on a hot afternoon in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The air was thick with summer heat, the kind that clings to your skin and slows your breath. I was sitting at my dining table, the grain of the wood warm under my fingertips, my body cradled by a simple wooden chair. In my left hand, an iPhone.
Outside, the world had gone still. Flights were grounded. The three-to-five trips a month that once kept my passport ink-fresh were now a memory that felt like another lifetime.
There was a current moving through me a flood of messages pressing against my ribs, rising into my throat. Words I knew weren’t mine to keep. They require to travel, to land in the heart of someone I might never meet.
So I pressed record.
No microphone, no sound engineer, no polished studio. Just me, my breath, and the steady courage to let the message matter more than my imperfect grammar. The first episode was unedited and raw my voice steady, my English fractured in places, but my intention unwavering. I decided that day: perfection would never be my gatekeeper.
Because I understood something that would shape every creation, if you wait for the flawless moment, you will wait forever.
Five years later, I’m still recording in that same spirit. My episodes remain unedited, my words unvarnished. And somehow, this rawness has become my signature. My podcast now lives in the top 10% most-listened-to globally a testament to the truth that authenticity resonates more deeply than polish ever could.
If you’ve been holding yourself back waiting for the equipment, the credentials, the perfect timing hear me: your voice is needed now. The people you’re meant to serve aren’t waiting for a flawless performance. They’re waiting for you to show up in the frequency of truth.
Elite leaders aren’t remembered for starting perfectly. They’re remembered for starting powerfully and refining in motion. If you’re ready to stop waiting for permission and start shaping the world with your voice, your message, and your truth, now is the only time.
