Rooted & Radiant: Coming Home to Your Inner Stability

Rooted & Radiant: Coming Home to Your Inner Stability

What if the very chaos you’re trying to escape is actually the gateway to your deepest grounding and power?

Here we go—sitting here with a sparkling water on the right side of my laptop and a perfect latte on the left. Slowly, I’m sliding into the writing zone.

The intention of this piece is simple yet profound: to invite you to fully embrace your life—yes, all of it. Even the parts you don’t yet understand. My hope is that through reading this, you’ll touch a deeper part of yourself—a space within that perhaps you’ve forgotten, or have yet to meet.

Did you know writing is an art form?

I find so much freedom in it. Millions of words to choose from, infinite thoughts dancing through my mind. And all I have to do is get into the zone, get clear on the essence of what to be shared, sitting comfortably upright, and let my fingers do a little cha-cha across the keyboard.

When we’re truly in the creative zone, we’re highly conscious—yet we’re not overthinking. It’s like entering a spinning vortex: the longer we stay, the more the energy flows through us. We become both the creator and the creation. It’s as if a musical instrument is playing itself, governed by a higher force.

Of course, we could choose to live a so-called “normal life.” But what does that even mean anymore?

Waking up each morning with dread, feeling overwhelmed by the weight of our responsibilities… or gripped by anxiety over life’s uncertainties and the latest fear-inducing headline.

My perception is deeply influenced by yoga practices and philosophy, which adds depth to the wide variety of topics I explore.

In yoga philosophy, chakras are considered energy centers within the subtle body. There are seven major chakras, each aligned along the spine—from its base to the crown of the head. Each chakra is associated with specific physical, emotional, and spiritual functions.

In this piece, we’re focusing on the first: the root.

Our root chakra, or Muladhara in Sanskrit, is the energy center located at the base of the spine.

When this energy wheel is strong and balanced, we feel grounded, safe, and supported. When it’s weak or blocked, we may feel anxious, unstable, or disconnected—from ourselves and from life.

Think about the roots of a plant. They anchor it to the earth. The deeper the roots, the stronger the plant. It can weather storms, winds, even hurricanes. The same is true for us. We can travel the world, live glamorous lives, appear successful—but without connection to our roots—our biological family, homeland, physical body, emotional center—we may feel ungrounded, lost, or easily shaken by life’s currents.

This rootless state often manifests as fear, inner chaos, misunderstanding, or even holding grudges. These are symptoms of energy that wants to be acknowledged, felt, and cleared.

So, I invite you—right now—to bring your awareness to the base of your spine.

Breathe in and feel your attention settle there. As you exhale, release any tension you’re holding in that space.

Inhale again, imagining the breath traveling from your nose all the way down to your root. Feel it expand.

Exhale, and notice any sensations.

Now visualize a glowing red orb at the base of your spine. With each breath in, see it growing stronger, more vivid.

With each breath out, feel it radiate stability and grounding.

Pay attention to what strengthens this energy and what drains it.

You’ll know it’s strong when you feel secure, safe, and steady.

You’ll know it’s weak when fear, instability, or anxiety dominate your experience.

There are many ways to strengthen your root chakra—and many paths to uncover the stories, wounds, or beliefs that may be blocking your energy. If this resonates with you, I offer 1:1 coaching to help bring clarity, healing, and deep grounding into your life.

Everything affects our energy—our past, our choices, even our present moment.

Like right now. I’m sitting in a coffee shop, and there’s a woman at the next table with her phone on full volume. For the last hour, she’s been watching random videos, making sure everyone hears. Yes, I feel the annoyance in my body. I could let it derail me… or I can witness the irritation, let it move through me, and channel it into something creative—like writing this exact sentence.

There is profound power in cultivating inner stability despite external chaos. That’s the gift of our human experience: to feel, to live, to fully experience life.

Our true power lies in becoming the witness—with zero resistance and full presence—while transmuting emotion into something meaningful.

That’s what I’m doing now. And interestingly, the background noise has faded. Not because it’s gone, but because I’m more here.

This life—it’s a wild, beautiful ride.

It’s meant to challenge us, not to break us. Not to make us feel unstable, but to remind us of the power we already hold.

Stability is your natural state. It’s who you are beneath the stories, beyond the noise.

And when you begin to live from that place—rooted, steady, and awake—you tap into the real magic.

The kind of power that changes lives. Starting with your own.

With love,

Joanne Genoza
