How Meditation Changed My Life: From Emptiness to Inner Power.

Meditation cracked me open. It gave me new eyes.
It offered a way of seeing life that changed the way I live life.
We’re often moved by circumstances, swept by distractions that are carefully curated to keep us numb, scattered, and far from our true power.
Focus is rare now. Attention spans are shrinking. Most of us are constantly leaking energy.
But meditation… meditation is not just sitting cross-legged looking serene.
It’s the art of radical attention.
It’s the sacred daily practice of directing your life force with intention.
Where your attention goes, your energy flows.
And when your attention is scattered, your energy drains leaving you exhausted, not because you’re doing too much, but because your power is too diluted.
The truth is: we are always given enough energy to do what we’re meant to do.
When we’re in alignment, doing what we love, we become a self-generating vortex of energy. It pours out from within us.
It’s not a lack of energy it’s a lack of focus.
Let me tell you how it all began for me.
It was a Saturday afternoon in 2016. I was in my chic apartment in Manila the one I had dreamed of, curated down to every corner. Aesthetically perfect.
But inside me, there was an ache. A hollowness I couldn’t explain.
I was surrounded by beautiful clothes and pretty things but my heart felt unbearably empty.
Life began to turn gray, even though, on paper, I had everything I once prayed for.
Conversations felt shallow. Parties felt meaningless.
And one weekend, I locked myself in. Closed all the curtains. Stayed in silence for two whole days which was not common back then.
I sat on the couch, staring into nothing, as if I were trying to diagnose my life.
Then came the question that cracked everything open:
“Why do I do what I do?”
“Why do people do what they do?”
I asked friends. Some thought I was spiraling.
A few said I was just overthinking, that I had everything a young woman could desire.
But the aching in my chest grew louder especially at night.
I got used to falling asleep with a trembling heart.
One friend mentioned the word depression and handed me a calling card for a doctor who could prescribe antidepressants.
I went home and Googled the word.
And down that rabbit hole, I stumbled upon something else:
Meditation.
I saw names like Oprah and other radiant people who had spoken of its power. I read about the science, the healing, the stories.
And in that moment, I chose.
I threw the calling card in the trash.
I whispered to myself: “I have nothing to lose. Let me try this.”
And so I did.
Every morning, I took a walk. I freshened up. I sat for 30 minutes.
I tried every kind of meditation on YouTube, and I got excited discovering new ones.
I stuck with it like my life depended on it because in many ways, it did.
One day, I finally understood what meditation truly is.
Not just with my mind but with my body, my breath, my soul.
I often say now:
The only way to understand meditation is to practice it.
Yes, it helps to know how to sit. Yes, the information matters.
But more than anything:
Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. Until you can’t wait to do it again.

You’re not tired because you’re doing too much.
You’re tired because your energy is scattered.
Pulled in a hundred directions. Giving too much to things that don’t feed your soul.
Meditation isn’t about being calm.
It’s about remembering who you are beneath the noise.
It’s the moment you sit with yourself and finally hear you.
Your truth. Your wisdom. Your breath.
Every day you don’t come home to yourself, you leak life force.
You start to forget your power. Your voice dims. Your body aches with unexpressed truth.
But the moment you return…
Even for 5 minutes.
You begin to restore. Reclaim. Rise.
Meditation is not the escape.
It’s the return.
