Acceptance Is the Most Radical Form of Power
The moment you stop fighting, what is… is the moment your life begins to reorganize itself.
The paradox is this:
You can only change what you are willing to accept.
A month ago, I was burned out in Manila. Not because I didn’t love what I was building. I did. I loved it fiercely. But devotion without nourishment becomes depletion. And my soul was whispering, then screaming.
I lived on the 46th floor. Every night, the sound of motors roared up the concrete walls and pierced through glass and steel. Even that high above the city, the noise found me.
From the moment I opened my eyes in the morning until I closed them at night, I was in full engagement creation, meetings, events, details, decisions. Obsessed. Precise. Relentless.
I was adding value. I was building impact. I was serving humanity. And yet… Each night I felt thoroughly exhausted. Not the kind of tired that sleep repairs. The kind that seeps into your bones.
Most interactions felt transactional. Surface-level. My body would sit in meetings, but my soul felt like it was hovering inches above me, watching.
I began asking myself: Is this the life I wish to continue? Would I do this again for another year exactly as it is now?
My heart answered quietly but clearly. No.
So I wrote in my journal: If it is not serving me, it will not serve anyone.
And I packed.
I flew first to my biological mother’s island. We shared tender moments, real ones. But something in my body knew: this isn’t where I am meant to root.
Now I am in Siargao. The longer I stay, the more the island reveals itself like a shy woman slowly showing her hidden jewels. I’ve met people I can speak with deeply. Conversations where I feel heard. Where connection is not performance, not hunting, not positioning.
Then last night, I was riding on the back of a motorbike. The same sound that used to disturb me from my 46th-floor apartment. And it dawned on me. The very thing I was trying to avoid, I was now sitting on top of.
Life is almost humorous like that. What we resist… follows.
This morning, I am writing from a second-floor room. Tall trees sway outside my window. Sunlight pours in, soft and golden. The leaves move like they are breathing. Babies cry. Roosters sing. Adults talk loudly from below.
My body tightens. A subtle irritation rises. Why can’t there just be pure silence?
And then I remember last night. The realization arrives again, softer this time.
What if I gift myself a new relationship with sound?
What if I allow all of it,
the crying,
the crowing,
the conversations,
the wind,
the engines
to simply exist?
Acceptance does not mean approval. It means I stop fighting. It means I soften my body. It means I release the argument with reality. And in that softening, something reorganizes.
We get more of what we resist. But when we observe without tension… life returns to its natural rhythm. You can only change what you are willing to fully feel.
I love for you to experiment with me. Right now. Soften your entire body. Feel the ground supporting you. Feel Mother Earth beneath your feet steady, unwavering. You are exactly where you require to be. Even here. Especially here.
Lower your resistance. Observe what is happening in your life without tightening against it.
Ask yourself:
What is this moment teaching me?
How can I maximize this exact season?
When I look back, how do I wish to remember how I showed up?

Most transformations do not happen in grand gestures. They happen in the accumulation of small, subtle choices, in the way you breathe, in the way you respond, in the way you soften instead of brace.
Gift yourself the shift.
